Poetry Written In Memory of Mah Noor
————-
Oh, moon-like one, oh fairy-like face, where are you?
You had once said that this fight would be hard,
Now, we would face such a battle together.
Look — Nargis is standing by me,
She seems victorious, as if the one who was lost has returned.
Your mother, she leaves the door open, waiting,
Whom should I tell where you have gone?
The paths to that direction are countless,
Yet the path of return is closed.
Oh, moon-like, fairy-like face,
Your shy, spontaneous laughter,
Those innocent eyes —
Everything I once thought seems wrong now.
The time of parting has arrived.
My heart cries out.
The scene does not leave my eyes,
The pain is such that it refuses to lessen.
Will we ever meet again?
If you turn away, it will be such that I may never even hear your voice.
Oh, moon-like, fairy-like face,
Nargis still needs you dearly.
The reason to live stands close by, asking for you.
I could weave thousands of tales in words,
I could say so much falsely,
Yet the truth remains unspeakable.
Every morning, I rise, realizing I cannot die.
Hope lingers; I, the traveler, still stand,
The path to your return exists… yet it remains blocked.
